In August I sat in on a fretboard geometry master class taught by Robb Cappelletto, Billy Strings' teacher, and he showed us a scale exercise that covers the whole neck with six shapes. In this video, I teach it the way Robb laid it out, then look at what it leaves out and rebuild the same shapes from a few building blocks that work from any root, on any string, and in the modes.
The PDF written version of the lesson is available above, in right- and left-handed editions. Silver members can read it on this page too, with every diagram from the video and a practice routine to work through.
